Pictrures of a 5 Day Alpine Track in the Austrian Oetztaler Mointains.
Beginning on a Monday at lunchtime Johannes an I started our one week hiking tour in the Ötztaler Alps.
We started in the little village Mandarfen at the end of the Pitztal.
In about 2 hours we reached our fist day destination the Riffelsee Hut (2289m).
The next day morning with absolutely splendid weather with blue sky we walked on the Offenbacher Track up to
the Wurmtaler Peak (3225m). The rest of the way downwards to the Taschach Hut (2432m).
On day three we used the Pitztaler Glacier Track and went up our highest point of this day the
Brunnenkogel (3440m). With the cable car we went downwards to the base of the Pitztal Skiing Area and
walked on crossing the Mittelbergferner and up to the Braunschweiger Hut (2758m).
Erarly in the morning on day four we got up to see the sun rise on the Pitztaler Joechel and then used the
Mainzer Hoehenweg to reach several 3000m high peaks with the Wassertalkogel (3252m) and the
Rheinland Pfalz Biwac in the center of the track. Further downwards to the Weissmaurach Joch (2953m) and
after more then eleven hours walk we arived the Ruesselsheimer Hut (2328m).
